The Concept
“Salty Notes” is a fresh take on the classic traveler’s journal: a folding cover with removable notebook inserts that one can customize and rearrange. Created from a desire to bring joy and inspiration back to schoolwork and productivity, this notebook offers the user a delightfully cute and functional space to jot down thoughts, tasks, or moments from your day.

Our office is conveniently located in Manhattan. A place to gather, grow, and reconnect.
Product Features
In its finished form, “Salty Notes” comes with four inserts including pocket, blank, ruled, and gridded, as well as internal pockets for loose pages or mementos. The inserts can be swapped out or removed for added functionality and reusability. Finally, the cover is held closed by an elastic clasp that mimics the pull tab on a can.

User 1 - Elena
After exploring the design for 1 minute, Elena noted the fish inserts as moments of surprise and delight.
“Oh my gosh cuuuuute!”
She also pointed out hesitancy to use the clasp as it felt fragile.

User 2 - Ezra
Ezra was attracted to the colorful exterior cover and metallic lining.
She did point out that the notebooks were a little small to write in comfortably.

Sarah responded most strongly to the notebook inserts.
“Wait, stop. Look at their eyes omg!”
Was thoroughly delighted, although maybe biased.

Delighted by the cover, though noted that she was nervous to open and close the elastic clasp. She also proposed a pen that looks like a fork as a potential line extension.

Ray was especially interested in the clasp and how it was constructed. He kept commenting on the cover and thought the fish were adorable. Also probably biased.
